A year of lean production at VENTS: unleashing the hidden reserves

VENTS continues to actively implement the lean production concept by optimising all the production processes, boosting their efficiency and improving the quality of the company's products. The production expansion is ensured by means of a comprehensive capability plan which includes acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment from leading international manufacturers every year. While selecting new equipment preference is given to innovative energy-saving units developed with lean production concepts in mind.

Metal processing shop gets Salvagnini P2lean universal panel bender

The company has recently acquired a completely automated panel bender to fabricate a wide variety of metal parts including profiles, box-type structures and polyangular panels. The Salvagnini P2lean can process large-size sheets over 2 m in length and up to 4 mm in thickness. Rational use of energy resources at all the production steps is a key element of VENTS' sustainable policy. Due to its power consumption of 5 kW the Salvagnini P2lean passes all the applicable energy requirements with flying colours.

"The new equipment has enabled us to process metal blanks with unprecedented quality, speed and precision. Flexible settings allow fabrication of both sets and batches of products with zero re-adjustment delays – just in time. We have virtually eliminated overproduction and significantly improved the overall operating efficiency", says Yevgeniy Karpenko, head of the metal processing shop.

Air handling and monoblock unit shop launches TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 fiber laser cutting machine

The new machine is intended for high-speed cutting of thin-sheet materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, copper and brass as well as processing structural steel of various thickness. The work surface measures 3000 mm х 1500 mm х 115 mm. A combination of a solid state laser and a highly dynamic system of direct drives ensures top feed rates and productivity, reduces the time required to complete each part up to three times and keeps the energy consumption to a minimum.

The parts fabricated with the TRUMPF TruLaser have very fine contours which require very little post production and treatment. The machine is equipped with the Drop&Cut function for efficient utilization of remainder sheets and automatic nozzle and sheet changers to achieve a minimal non-production time. All these features amount to outstanding quality of finished parts with minimum energy required.
