Air quality is a prerequisite of our health

What can we practically do to make the air inside spaces cleaner and fresher? Here is some conventional wisdom:

– Swing the windows wide open and create a draft. However, this method only adds to the heat or cold depending on the season.

– Put a pot with a philodendron or fern in every corner of the room. These plants are very good at cleaning the air from formaldehydes released by furniture elements, upholstery, structural units and elements (e.g. adhesives, sealants, paint and finish). But like any plant they need regular watering and an occasional wash as leaves become covered in dust and dirt.

– Get rid of all furniture made from MDF and chip board and HDF, and use only natural components in construction. Go eco-friendly all the way. But how is that possible in an office? In a bank? A shopping centre? A school? A factory?

– Get rid of all synthetic detergents, hair spray and toilet freshener. This might be tough, but still doable – or you can always open the windows or switch on the hood fan.

– Stop using the stove for daily cooking. This will help do away with vapours, odours and combustion products. However, we cannot openly encourage to embrace a raw food diet as it is still causing heated debate in the scientific community.

Although the conventional methods can be efficient, they are often too radical to adopt. A complete ventilation system is the best possible solution for quality air exchange that ticks all the boxes. But how do you control air quality?

We offer a range of new special sensors:VOC (volatile organic compounds) sensor to detect volatile organic compounds (DPWQ30600). Provides qualitative assessment of air saturation with contaminants (e.g. cigarette smoke, fumes, formaldehydes, and solvent and detergent vapours).

СО2 sensor (DRWQ40200). Measures the carbon dioxide content in a space using a non-dispersive infrared analyser (NDIR).

Humidity sensor (DPWC11200). Helps control the humidity level.

Depending on the sensor threshold setting the automatic control system increases ventilation fan speed when the air contamination level becomes critical.
