Besides living up to high performance expectations VENTS equipment sometimes reaches new heights quite literally. Just recently an AirVENTS air handling unit cleared the ground and landed on the roof of a modern high-rise business centre in Hoholivska street in Kyiv. The vantage point will enable the unit to provide high-performance energy-efficient ventilation and air filtration for the entire building.
Setting up a ventilation system in a large facility is always a challenge due to a unique combination of constraints resulting from the building design and a host of other factors and things to account for. "Ventilation Systems" has the experience and capability for creating highly sophisticated ventilation systems to meet most complex design requirements with a particular emphasis on each client’s needs. The creation of a ventilation system for a high-rise building in Kyiv, which was erected over 50 years ago and recently converted into a state-of-the-art business centre, marks yet another prominent addition to our completed projects portfolio. The project was based on an AirVENTS AV45 modular air handling unit and involved building an intricate system of air ducts around the existing infrastructure and meeting all the indoor air quality requirements.
This particular ventilation unit solution includes a rotary heat exchanger and heat pumps. The combination of these devices enables capturing and recycling nearly all the amount of heat contained in the extract air, which reduces energy consumption to a bare minimum. The ratio of the heat output to the power input in such units is 8:1 which means that generating 8 kW of thermal output requires only 1 kW of electricity.
The maximum air capacity of AirVENTS AV45 is 37,500 m3/h. This functionality and performance comes in a compact package which is about 6 m long, 2.8 m wide and 3.4 m high fully assembled. The automatic control system of the air handling unit is integrated into the building management system. In addition to reducing utility maintenance costs and energy consumption this enables selection of an optimum performance profile based on the input from temperature, humidity and CO2 sensors in the building, provide reliable protection of the equipment in emergency situations, and implement automatic commercial and process-related accounting of energy resources.
AirVENTS air handling units provide flexible modular solutions for an all-in-one compact and high-performance ventilation system which can be adapted to any building to meet specific client requirements. Thanks to the AirVENTS AV45 unit the residents and guests of one more modern business centre in Ukraine's capital will be able to enjoy clean fresh air.
