Hundreds of VENTS ventilation units to provide fresh air for Canadian homes

VENTS company continues expansion into North American market. To ensure proper ventilation in two condominium towers of the newly built Valleymede Towers development in the suburbs of Toronto, the company supplied 232 Frigate ERV 80R and Frigate ERV 120R supply and exhaust units.

The Frigate ERV series ventilation units were an obvious choice for the ventilation project at the residential complex as, unlike other residential buildings, such condos have no utility spaces to contain bulky ventilation equipment. This is why the projects presented a set of constraints for in-ceiling ventilation units with regards to height. The Frigate series units fitted the bill perfectly thanks to their slim profile (the Frigate ERV 80R and Frigate ERV 120R measure 8 7/16” and 9 1/16” respectively).

In addition to that the units offer convenient performance control thanks to a small screen and two buttons on the control board for fan speed adjustment.  This enables the user to adjust air flow capacity based on the floor area of their space. A push-button timer to set the time for the ventilation unit operation is provided for extra convenience.

The Frigate ERV units are also equipped with enthalpy heat exchangers capable of transferring the heat and the moisture of the extract air stream to the supply air to maintain occupant comfort in the treated room and reduce the heating bills.

To ensure consistent and efficient operation during cold Canadian winters the Frigate ERV units are provided with a freeze protection suite which is enabled automatically upon outside air temperature dropping below 23 °F.
