Kaizen: the VENTS Way

Sustainable improvement of all business processes and functions – from production to management – is one of the key aspects of "Ventilation Systems" development policy. This year VENTS held the 2nd annual lean production fair to showcase the advantages and efficiency of the concept. The staff of 11 departments which develop domestic and industrial ventilation products presented their achievements and discussed ways of further streamlining the production process. In 85 % of the cases the kaizen approach helped VENTS teams reach their targets – well done!

Using lean production tools enables consistent improvements in such important areas as production capacity, business process efficiency and order processing time.

"Our unit team wanted to reduce the down time of the equipment and increase the output of tooling components that we produce. To this end we upgraded our facilities with a 3D measuring machine, purchased new materials for shaping parts of the moulds and commissioned new quick-change tool equipment. As a result in 2016 our unit capacity grew 2.2 times compared to 2015 while the equipment downtime dropped 39 %", says Oleg Kozub, head of the integrated tool production unit.

"Our unit was tasked with boosting each team member's productivity. Thanks to a thorough streamlining of assembly operations, commissioning new tools and implementing comprehensive motivational programs the process efficiency increased many-fold while the output capacity grew 15 %", added Vitaly Sayenko, deputy head of the fan production shop.
