The safety of visitors and staff is one of the top priorities for any shopping center or public facility. That is why smoke exhaust systems are an integral part of modern fire protection systems. During a fire, they ensure the rapid removal of smoke and combustion products, improve visibility along evacuation routes, create safer conditions for firefighters and rescue teams, and help reduce the thermal stress on the building’s structure.
The smoke extraction system at the ZIKKURAT Market shopping centre uses Vents VKDV rooftop centrifugal smoke extraction fans, designed for use in emergency exhaust ventilation systems. The fans ensure the forced removal of smoke, hot gases, and combustion products, as well as the removal of excess heat from the premises during a fire. The fans are capable of moving smoke and air mixtures with temperatures up to +600 °C for 120 minutes, ensuring stable operation under the most extreme emergency conditions.
The unit’s casing is made of steel with a heat-resistant polymer coating that is resistant to weathering. The fans are equipped with a check valve that prevents the ingress of precipitation and the backflow of air. A protective grille prevents accidental contact with moving parts and the entry of foreign objects.
