Following commissioning of the new МА 7000 injection molding machine, which allows producing especially large plastic fabricated parts, Ventilation Systems now puts into operation one more non-standard injection molding machine, a two-component injection molding machine IA 3600 of IAPETUS series, which will significantly expand company’s capacity to produce plastic products.
Assortment of products offered by Vents includes a vast list of ventilation devices that contain parts made of various polymer materials, which may vary in properties, color or hardness. Manufacturing process for such parts traditionally includes production of various components by injection molding and their subsequent assembly into finished parts. The new two-component injection molding machine will allow to produce parts from two different materials in one production process. Such a solution will not only optimize production process by reducing load on manufacturing equipment and elimination of product assembly operations form the production chain, but also improve the functionality and available options when designing plastic elements.
IA 3600 injection molding machine has two injection units, and for plastic injection molding, molds with two mold cavities are used. Both injection units operate in parallel. During production melted plastic is introduced into one mold cavity where the work piece is formed. After solidification of the work piece, the mold is rotated 180 degrees by means of a turntable located on a movable plate, after which plastic with different characteristics is introduced into another mold cavity. After injection and cooling, the mold is opened, finished product is ejected, the table rotates 180 degrees again and the process is repeated.
The new injection molding machine is equipped with Techmation 7000 control system with two central processors for parallel information processing. 10’’ LCD screen with HMI interface and programmable smart controls ensure easy and user-friendly control of machine’s functionality.
