Vyshhorod Central District Hospital is a multidisciplinary healthcare facility that provides inpatient and outpatient care to the residents of the town of Vyshhorod and the Vyshhorod District. In recent years, the hospital has been actively upgraded: wards are being renovated, the scope of medical care is expanding, and new functional units are being created, including a rehabilitation ward and a modern maternity ward.
Not only did the upgrade involve renovating the facilities and updating medical equipment, but it also included developing the building’s engineering infrastructure. After all, ventilation systems in healthcare facilities must comply with current building and sanitary regulations, ensuring proper air circulation, adequate air quality, and comfortable and safe conditions for patients and healthcare workers.


FEATURES OF VENTILATION IN MEDICAL FACILITIES

The Vyshgorod Central District Hospital needed ventilation solutions tailored to rooms with different purposes and varying air circulation requirements: the maternity ward, the rehabilitation ward, the neonatal intensive care unit, the vaccination room, treatment rooms, on-call rooms, sanitation and hygiene rooms, and other areas of the hospital.

In healthcare facilities, there is no single ventilation system that would work for all rooms. According to building and sanitary codes, operating rooms, delivery rooms, neonatal wards, and other areas with high requirements need individual mechanical ventilation with multi-stage air filtration. For other rooms, general supply and exhaust ventilation is used. However, it is important to ensure the correct direction of airflow between the “clean” and “dirty” zones, maintain a comfortable indoor climate, and minimize noise.

SOLUTIONS BY VENTS

AirVENTS air handling units

Seven AirVENTS air handling unit models 03 and 09 were used for the project, with capacities of up to 3,450 m³/h and up to 12,000 m³/h, respectively. The configuration of each unit was tailored to the room’s purpose and air exchange requirements. The modular design of AirVENTS made it possible to equip the units with the necessary filtration sections, heaters, coolers, heat recovery units, and controllers. As a result, the equipment could easily be adapted to specific operating conditions and ensure effective ventilation in different areas of the facility.

Vents VKM inline fans

In addition to the air handling units, the project included 2 Vents VKM 100 centrifugal inline fans and 6 Vents VKM 125 centrifugal inline fans. The fan casing is made of polymer-coated steel, and the AC motor is equipped with built-in thermal protection with automatic reset. Each impeller undergoes dynamic balancing, which reduces noise and ensures precise performance and safe operation.
The ventilation systems also included Vents KP-1 fire dampers, sound attenuators, Aluvent flexible air ducts, and other ventilation accessories. These ensured the proper operation of the system, improved the facility’s fire safety, and helped maintain a comfortable noise level in the hospital.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION RESULTS

The project was implemented in phases during 2025–2026. As of today, some of the ventilation systems are already operating successfully, and the rest will be commissioned after the next stages of the hospital’s modernization are completed.

The VENTS solutions implemented made it possible to provide ventilation for rooms with varying air exchange requirements—from hospital rooms and offices to the maternity ward, rehabilitation rooms, and the neonatal intensive care unit. 
Thanks to the modular design of the systems, the equipment could be tailored to the specific needs of each functional area.

The ventilation equipment was installed in accordance with the recommendations provided by VENTS. The installation contractor noted the equipment’s well-thought-out design and ease of installation, while the VENTS service team provided technical support for the project throughout the commissioning phase.
